Outstanding Beginning Teacher Awards
The MACTE Outstanding Beginning Teachers (OBTs) will be recognized as part of the MACTE Spring Conference. We look forward to celebrating the OBT Award recipients by sending a special gift in recognition of their achievements that can be shared with their school communities.
Every other year, MACTE accepts nominations for the Missouri Outstanding Beginning Teachers. Each MACTE member institution may nominate up to 2 first or second year teachers for this award. The nominations should be submitted by the Dean / leader of the Educator Preparation Program (EPP). Information regarding how awardees will be recognized will follow. (As an example, awardees from 2023 received an OBT banner for their school or classroom that acknowledged their status as an outstanding beginning teacher. Some administrators chose to award these banners at an assembly or as a surprise in the OBT’s classroom.)
While the nomination and selection process within each institution may vary, each EPP must complete the MACTE Nomination Form prior to the MACTE deadline.
