Awards

The purpose of the MACTE awards is to recognize those who have positively impacted educator preparation in the state of Missouri.

The MACTE Educator of Excellence Award recognizes an individual within an EPP whose contributions to teacher education, either through distinguished service to the teacher education community or through the development and promotion of outstanding practices in teacher education at the collegiate, state, or national level.

  • 2022 – Dr. Trudy Giasi

The MACTE President’s Award recognizes a MACTE member’s contributions to the teaching profession. This award will be selected by the Executive Board. 

  • 2024 – Dr. Denise Cunningham, Missouri State University
  • 2023 – Dr. Jennifer Waddell

The MACTE DEI Award recognizes an individual within an EPP whose contributions promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  • 2024 – Dr. Michael McBride, Northwest Missouri State University
  • 2023 – Mr. Sankalp Shivaprakash
  • 2023 – Dr. Tammy T. Moore
  • 2022 – Dr. Dennis Rudnick
  • 2022 – Dr. Howard E. Fields III

The MACTE Advocacy Award recognizes an affiliate’s contributions to the profession through efforts to advocate for improvements to policies and practices that benefit our students, our colleagues, and the profession as a whole.
