Outstanding Beginning Teacher Awards

Every two years, MACTE accepts nominations for the Missouri Outstanding Beginning Teacher Awards.  Each MACTE member institution may nominate up to two 1st or 2nd year teachers for this award.  Award recipients will be notified by the MACTE Executive Board and will be invited to attend our spring conference for a luncheon in their honor.

While the nomination and selection process at each institution may vary, the following items are necessary to approve a nomination:

  • Feedback from faculty during the student’s teacher education program
  • Feedback from student teaching supervisor and cooperating teacher during student teaching
  • Letter of recommendation from the hiring principal regarding the performance of the student during their first year teaching (REQUIRED IN THE PACKET)
  • Review of nominations by a committee comprised of faculty and staff at the University and school personnel
