William Woods University Seeking Editorial Board Members for the Midwest Journal of Education

The Midwest Journal of Education (MJE) is a peer-reviewed journal in education. As a peer-reviewed, open-access journal that features the work of scholars and practitioners who address the nexus of theory and practice in education, we invite submissions from educators with various backgrounds. MJE strives to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and to promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

We seek early/mid-career Editorial Board Members to join us on this exciting journey.

Qualifications

The ideal editorial review board members will have:

  • Research expertise, typically through a PhD
  • Expertise in content areas to be covered.
  • Some peer-reviewed publication/review experience.

Functions and Duties of Editorial Review Board Members

  • Being an ambassador for the journal, promoting it through networks, conferences, and social media.
  • Reviewing manuscripts: refereeing an average of 3-4 papers/year as requested, in a timely manner.
  • Suggesting special issue proposals or acting as Guest Editor for a special issue or special section.
  • Soliciting at least one or two articles a year for submission to the journal.
  • Supporting the Editor-in-Chief by providing a list of suggested referees for occasional papers.
  • Attending an annual virtual editorial board meeting.
  • Serving a 1-year term which may be renewed.
