National Association for Family School and Community Engagement launches a new initiative to expand our understanding of educator preparation in family engagement

My name is Maggie Caspe and I work with the National Association for Family School and Community Engagement (NAFSCE). In partnership with AACTE and other collaborators, we have launched a new initiative to expand our understanding of educator preparation in family engagement. You can read more about the project here and in a recent blog featured on the AACTE website.

A cornerstone of this work is our National Survey of Educator Preparation in Family Engagement. The goal of the survey is to map how educator preparation programs are preparing education candidates for effective family engagement, identify promising practices, and learn and share innovative ideas. We are hoping to get as many chairs, heads, coordinators or directors of departments or units that oversee educator preparation programs to complete it and I was hoping that we could ask for your help. As an AACTE state chapter president, would it be possible for you to help share the news about the survey with any chapter members so that they can take the survey and share it with appropriate colleagues within their institution? I’ve pasted some template text you can also use for the communication, but if it would be helpful, I’d be happy to help draft something more detailed. The link to the survey is here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/IHEFamEngage.
